Trained by the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service as a Farm Planner, and serving as a Technical Service Provider and farm business planner for the MA Department of Agricultural Resources, Mary can assist farmers in understanding and applying for grant programs, as well as developing realistic financial projections, business & marketing plans, and comparing potential return on investment of various enterprise alternatives.  Mary has worked with hundreds of New England small family farms over the past 15 years and offers families facilitation that can open new pathways through tough decisions and solid foundations for a hopeful & prosperous future.

Environmental Services

Mary has a long history of assisting with land planning, review of site plans, and wetland delineations and permitting, wildlife habitat evaluation and conservation and watershed restoration planning. She has worked extensively on wetland and watershed issues in the northeastern United States and abroad for the past 22 years.

Climate Change Adaptation in International Development and Aid work

Mary has experience as a project coordinator working on project design, proposal development and implementation of large scale government AID and private donor funded wildlife conservation and climate change adaptation/mitigation projects throughout Latin America & the Caribbean over the past 10 years.  She has worked with small holder farmers, local ngo’s, and cacao and coffee cooperatives, working for organizations including Winrock International, the Rainforest Alliance, and the Wildlife Conservation Society.  Recent pro-bono assistance was provided to a permaculture project assisting a community resettling Internally Displaced families fleeing the Boka Haram attacks in northern Nigeria, and organic farmers on the island of Dominica seeking solutions to land slides and severe soil erosion after successive  Tropical Storm damage in 2015.
